Ken Robinson is a very well known advocate for the arts and public education reform. In my classroom, we do art! Making the arts an integral part of education is very important for a multitude of reasons. The benefits of arts integration may not always be evident immediately, however, they create countless benefits and

 reveal themselves across all the content areas with time. The arts are a major discipline because they are assessable, brain based, culturally necessary, have no downside, are inclusive, have survival value, and because they are wide ranging. Some of the major benefits of arts integration include promoting the development of neural systems, enhanced cognition, cultural exposure, social harmony, creativity, appreciation of diversity, and improved emotional regulation.
